This morning, our family experienced a sudden and heartbreaking loss.
My brother, his wife, and their three children lost their barn in an accidental fire. While we are profoundly grateful that no one was hurt, the impact of this loss is immense.

They are homesteaders and beloved members of the Brevard community. My brother is a hardworking contractor, and my sister-in-law is a devoted homeschool mom and soccer coach. Together, they’ve built a life centered on family, hard work, and caring for their home and animals. They also provide raw milk, Kiefer and cheese to local families.The barn was the heart of their operation- and it’s gone.

Their cows are now without shelter, including one who recently gave birth during the ice storm. In addition to housing their livestock, the barn stored their camping gear tools, boats, children’s outdoor equipment, and supplies they relied on daily.

This loss came without warning and a rebuild will take time, resources, and community support.

If you are able to donate financially, any amount truly helps and will go directly toward emergency shelter for the animals, replacing essential equipment, and rebuilding what was lost.

If you’re unable to donate money but would like to help, please reach out to me or another family member about donations of secondhand gear, tools, supplies, or other useful items.

We are incredibly grateful for support of any kind.
