The Forks of the River, a local name for our location, is a taproom that not only celebrates the birthplace of the French Broad River but also the quality of water we all enjoy. We dedicate 12 taps to our breweries within our watershed that makes beer from these pristine mountain waters. We are here because of the water and so is the beer.

Food Trucks
We work with some amazing locally owned and operated food trucks throughout the year. They are each independent from the Taproom and Headwaters, therefor schedules and line-ups can change daily. We will do our best to post a weekly schedule on our social media accounts. Thank you for understanding and for supporting small local businesses.

River update! A lane has been opened on river right through the big blockage on the Upper French Broad near Deerwoode Reserve. Still exercising caution out there — several trees down and some tight passages to navigate between Island Ford and Hap Simpson accesses.

We’ll cover when and where to fish terrestrials, fly selection, presentation techniques, and simple tips to help you get more confident fishing the surface.
