🦙 Llama Hiking in DuPont is officially open for booking!
Join us for a unique 3-mile guided hike in DuPont State Forest where you’ll hit the trail alongside friendly llamas from Llama Caddy, guided by Headwaters Outfitters. Yes—you actually get to hike while leading a llama, which is half the adventure and definitely the fun part. The trip lasts about 2 hours, including time to relax and hang out near some of DuPont’s beautiful waterfalls.
Spots are limited. We require a minimum of 6 participants for the hike to run and can host up to 16 people. With 8 llamas on the trip, some hikers may take turns walking with them if we reach capacity. If the minimum isn’t met, we’ll stay in close contact with those registered and provide a full refund if the trip needs to be canceled.

Spots are still available for Wilderness First Aid + CPR Certification happening April 18–19. This two-day course is designed to teach you how to respond to medical situations when professional help may be far away. You’ll learn practical skills for assessing injuries, managing emergencies, and making decisions in remote environments where resources are limited.
This training is perfect for guides, outdoor professionals, and anyone who spends significant time hiking, paddling, fishing, or recreating in the backcountry.
The course will be taught by Christie Merrill of Oxbow River Snorkeling, who brings a unique blend of experience as a nurse, herbalist, and outdoor educator.
We’d also like to recognize the support of Land of Sky Regional Council and the Mountain Area Workforce Development Board for providing a grant opportunity that helped make this training possible for our full-time staff. Investing in safety and professional development for outdoor workers is incredibly important for our community and the people we guide on the water and trails.
If you’ve been thinking about getting certified or refreshing your skills, this is a great opportunity to learn valuable backcountry medical knowledge right here in Brevard. 🌿🏔️
